Fading Text

Example made by Paulina
1. Open up the graphic you want to put fading text on in your graphics program
2. Make a new layer (in Paint Shop Pro, layers >> new raster layer)
3. Click on the text tool
4. Write the text you want to be fading
5. Layers >> Properties...
6. Set the opacity to 0
7. Save as...
8. Name it graphic1.png (replace graphic with anything you like). OK.
8. Layers >> Properties...
9. Set the opacity to 40
10. Save as...
11. Name it graphic2.png (replace graphic with anything you like). OK.
12. Layers >> Properties...
13. Set the opacity to 70
14. Save as...
15. Name it graphic3.png (replace graphic with anything you like). OK.
16. Layers >> Properties...
17. Set the opacity to 100
18. Save as...
19. Name it graphic4.png (replace graphic with anything you like). OK.
20. Open up your animation program
21. Insert all the files you just made into different frames in order (eg. graphic1, graphic2, etc), then back.
22. In the first frame, set the frame properties anywhere from 200-400
23. In the fourth frame, set the frame properties anywhere from 50-100
24. In all the other frames, set the frame properties to 10.
24. Save as...
25. Name it anything, save it as .gif. Finish saving.
26. Done! (you should look at the animation to see if it turned out right)

Skimming Color
Example:

Example made by Paulina
1. Open up the graphic you want to put skimming color text on in your graphics program
2. Make a new layer (in Paint Shop Pro, layers >> new raster layer)
3. Click on the text tool
4. Write the text you want to have skimming color on.
5. Save as... Name it graphic1.png (replace graphic with anything you like). OK. 6. Choose the Paint bucket tool and color in the first letter
7. Save as... Name it graphic2.png (replace graphic with anything you like). OK.
8. Now color in the second letter (keep the color on the first letter)
9. Save as... Name it graphic3.png (replace graphic with anything you like). OK.
10. Get rid of the color on the first letter. Now color in the third letter.
11. Save as... Name it graphic4.png (replace graphic with anything you like). OK.
12. Get rid of the color on the second letter and fill in the 4th letter.
13. Save as... Name it graphic5.png (replace graphic with anything you like). OK.
14. Get rid of the color on the third letter and fill in the 5th letter
15. Save as... Name it graphic6.png (replace graphic with anything you like). OK.
16. Got the drift? So basically what you do is repeat steps 13 and 14 but instead getting rid of the color on the third letter, get rid of the fourth one and then the fifth and so on, then fill in the 6th letter and 7th etc. And when you save as..., save it as graphic7, graphic8 etc. Keep doing that until each letter has been colored. Remember to color just the last letter only for the ending frame.
17. Open up your animation program.
18. Insert all the files you just made into different frames in order. Make all the frame properties 10.
19. On the first frame, you may choose to make the frame properties 20 or keep it as 10.
20. Save as...
21. Name it anything, save it as .gif. Finish saving.
26. Done! (you should look at the animation to see if it turned out right)

Jumpy text
Example:

Example made by Paulina
1. Open up the graphic you want to put jumpy text on in your graphics program
2. Make a new layer (in Paint Shop Pro, layers >> new raster layer)
3. Click on the text tool
4. Write the FIRST letter and the first letter ONLY that you want to have jumpy letters on (move it anywhere you want)
5. New layer
6. Write the second letter and move it next to the first one
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each letter
8. Select the mover tool and move the first letter up a little
9. Color it with the fill tool
10. Save as... Name it graphic1.png (replace graphic with anything you want)
11. Undo (Ctrl+Z, in Photoshop CS2 Ctrl+Alt+Z) until the letter is back to normal
12. Repeat steps 8 and 9 for each letter (but instead of graphic1, do graphic2, then graphic3 etc.)
13. Open up your animation program
14. Insert all the files you just made in different frames in order, then back.
15. Save as... Name it anything you want and save it as a gif. Finish the saving process.
16. Done! (you should look at the animation to see if it turned out right)
