So... You wanna study some history of TBT, eh? Or, you want to learn more about it. Or you're just bored. Whateva the case, here's the history/about TBT! Get out your notepad!

One day....... While browsing through some kewl sites I, Nicolette, was looking at some tutorials... And then I had an idea. Since there were soooo many graphics sites and hardly any tutorial-only sites I thought "Why don't I make my own?". There was one thing in teh way though- I couldn't make web layouts. After asking Dad if he could get me a DreamWeaver program, he asked a guy at work who had one and he gave it to us ;). Unfortunately, it was only a 30 day trial because it required a *dang* serial number and of course, we didn't have one XD. But I *did* make my web layout TBT and some others for various things ;).

At first I intended for TBT to be run by me and only me XD. But after some thought I decided that it should be open to staff members at all times ;). Lol, big change huh? And then, after some hard work over a few weeks The Brain Tree officially opened on August the 14th, 10:41 AM PST :P. It's still new, so there isn't *that* much history... oh well! I gathered up some old guides & tutorials from the site that I used to co-own, NeoHideout. If you ever visited NeoHideout before, you'll probably see some familiar things ;).

I had and still have a graphics designer job at Seraya owned by teh pwnful Nat ^^. It's part blog site, and because bloggin' is fun I decided to make TBT a part blog site too :D. So full credits to Nat @ Seraya.org for zee idea ;).

The name? Well I was stumped so I went to explore around neopia. I found brightvale, and then saw the Wheel of Knowledge and I decided that was a good name. It was a long name though, so I decided I would shorten it to WOK. Then my online friends at the Neo-Reality forums said it sounded like the chicken, wok xD. Neo-Nerds was also one of my choices, but I decided not to do it even though I liked the name a lot, it had Neo in it and someone said it was offending xD. So... back to neopia. This time I went to the Haunted Woods. And then, of course, The Brain Tree was born!

Now... The host. Since I knew how to download cutenews, I needed a PHP host so I went with awardspace. Unfortunately, cutenews was all messed up on it for some reason, so I decided to go with Free Hostia. Now I absolutely <3 it =3. It's free, supports PHP AND FTP :D. Awesome <3. Okay, since thebraintree.freehostia.com seemed too long, I searched for a redirection host. Co.nr I thought was too overused and it wasn't accepting anymore free signups until quite a while. I liked net.tf, so I signed up for that. Sadly they said they had no forced ads, but they do. So... after a few google searches I finally settled for Ne1.net and thus thebraintree.r8.org was born =).

We now have our official mascot. Please welcome....... this dude!
